Edoardo Cignoli : TRI Pointe in Deal With Weyerhaeuser Unit

TRI Pointe Homes, the California home builder controlled by Barry Sternlicht's Starwood Capital Group, has clinched a $2.7 billion deal to merge with timber conglomerate Weyerhaeuser Co.'s home-building division.
